The Sanctuary (Lessons 1 & 2)

10/18/2013

There is a place where God dwells;[1] a place of worship,[2] a holy temple, the true sanctuary, erected by the Lord, in Heaven,[3] where the Ruler of the Universe,[4] He who is eternal,[5] who fills both Heaven and Earth,[6] by whom all things exist and were created,[7] who is righteous[8] and holy,[9] sits, in splendor and glory, upon a throne whose foundation is mercy and justice, [10] out of which flows River of Life and around which grows the Tree of Life.[11] At His right hand,[12] in this glorious place, Jesus Christ,[13] Our LORD, our High Priest,[14] the slain Lamb,[15] ministers in our behalf.[16]
The Garden Temple: God created the earth and placed within it a home for mankind called the Garden of Eden[17] in which to commune with mankind.[18] In the center of it, as is in God’s dwelling place in heaven, He planted a Tree of Life and a river flowing.[19] When God was finished with His creation, He instructed the people in His laws[20] and set aside the seventh day as Sabbath,[21] a space of holy time in which to worship.[22] He sanctified it and blessed it.[23]
The Earthly Sanctuary: God told Moses, and eventually Solomon,[24] to build a tabernacle/temple so He could dwell among men, and communicate with His people.[25] He gave them the blueprint for its construction,[26] which was a pattern of the heavenly,[27] filled it with His glory,[28] and, as He did for the Sabbath, He sanctified it and blessed it.[29] Jesus as the Sanctuary: In the fullness of time, God came in the person of Jesus to dwell among men and die as the scarified lamb. He declared Himself to be the Temple, the Light of the world, the Bread of Life and the Living Water, an exact replica of the Father in Heaven, and, after suffering the sacrificial death, returned to Heaven as our intercessor, where He ministers before the Heavenly Father as our High Priest. Jesus, also, was sanctified[30] and blessed.[31]
We are the temple of God,[32] a holy priesthood,[33] built on the foundation of Jesus,[34] filled with and empowered by the presence of God in the person of the Holy Spirit.[35] We are to be faithful stewards,[36] not defiling our bodies, His holy temple.[37] We are to be constantly partaking of the Bread of Life and drinking the Living Water. Through Jesus we are sanctified,[38] and eternally blessed.
When it all comes together: There will come a blessed Sabbath day when the sanctified from the earth will worship.[39] Having abandoned their earthly tabernacles, [40]they will gather together before God’s throne,[41] in the presence of Jesus Christ, [42] the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world,[43] Then there will be no more temple, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.[44] Truly blessed[45] is he who believes![46]

My DearChild,

Proverbs 3:1-15 Living Bible (TLB)
My dear child,

Never forget the things I’ve taught you.[1]  If you want a long and satisfying life,[2] closely follow my instructions.[3] Never tire of loyalty and kindness.[4] Hold these virtues tightly. Write them deep within your heart.[5] If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself.[6] In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.[7]

Don’t be conceited, sure of your own wisdom.[8] Instead, trust and reverence the Lord, and turn your back on evil; when you do that, then you will be given renewed health and vitality.[9]

Honor the Lord by giving Him the first part of all your income, and He will fill your barns with wheat and barley and overflow your wine vats with the finest wines.[10]

Young man, do not resent it when God chastens and corrects you, for His punishment is proof of His love. Just as a father punishes a son he delights in to make him better, so the Lord corrects you.[11]

The man who knows right from wrong and has good judgment and common sense is happier than the man who is immensely rich! For such wisdom is far more valuable than precious jewels. Nothing else compares with it.[12]
. . .
Read and meditate upon the entire letter, found in Proverbs chapter 3. In a nutshell, it promises that God will give us wisdom and details what wisdom acts like. It finishes with the assurance that “The wise shall inherit Glory.” PROVERBS 3:35.

Try tagging a prayer

Here’s some Bible Study fun. Try tagging your prayer to scripture verses.

My Heavenly Father, Praise and Glory to your name (1 Chronicles 16:34-35)
Praise for Jesus Christ, who came, (1 Tim. 1:15) lived, (John 1:14) suffered (Hebrews 13:12) and died for my sins. (1 Corinthians 15:3) Praise for the promptings of the Comforter, Holy Spirit, whom Jesus promised would lead me into all truth. (John 14:16)
Praise for your ministering spirits, the angels, who carry me, sometimes literally, through each day. (Psalm 91:11- 12) Praise that You care about every detail of my life, that You have numbered even the hairs of my head. (Matthew 10:30, 31) Praise for the troubles and trials that You allow for my purification! (1 Peter 1:7)
May I make known your holy name as I mingle with people today! (1 Chronicles 16:8)

In the precious name of Jesus Christ, AMEN

Tagging a Sermon

8/14/2013

Hey, this is a fun thing to do. Tag a sermon. I took notes on the sermon and found Bible verses to match. The two basic texts used were Mark 10:13-16 and Proverbs 22:6. The many other verses I listed I picked up from tagging the thoughts he presented.  It's a fun way to get into the Bible.

The Prayer
The righteous established: Psalm 1:6
No more tears: Revelation 21:4
Tear us from evil: Matthew 6:13
Bring us to an expected end: Jeremiah 29:11
Renew our Spirit: Psalm 51:10

Pass it On: Raising children in the Lord
Culture going to pot: 2 Tim 3:1-4
We reap what we sow: Psalm 126:6; Galatians 6:7
More physical logical than spiritual: 2 Timothy 3:4 (last part)
Jesus is the light of the world: John 8:12
Children held in the arms of the creator: John 1:1-3
Part of Jesus went into the children: Mark 5:30
Good character is more precious than gold; Isaiah 13:12
Train up a child: Proverbs 22:6
Jesus is the way (to train the child): John 14:6
Nothing more important than the spiritual needs of our children. We must be intentional in their spiritual education. Deuteronomy 6:6-9
We are loves of ourselves: 2 Timothy 3:2
We are created in God’s image: Genesis 1:27, 28
Nothing belongs to us; Psalm 24:1
etc...

Facing the Future

7/29/2013

According to Strong’s Concordance, The word “thoughts,” (Hebrew - machashabah) as used in the following verses, has been also translated by the words “devices,” “purposes” and “plans.” Try replacing the word "purpose" or "plan" in the following verses.
  • Proverbs 16:3
  • Isaiah 55:8-9
  • Jeremiah 29:11
I can trust my future to the hands of a God like this!

When going forward seems hedged in with difficulty I remember these encouraging promises:.
  • ISAIAH  41:10   Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
  • ISAIAH  43:1-2   But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; you are mine.  2When you pass  through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee

Here''s a jewel: MALACHI   3:16   Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
