The Lord is My Problem Solver
The Lord is my problem solver. I shall depend upon His best-for-my-future solutions. (Jeremiah 29:11. Proverbs 3:5, 6.)
When I face a challenge, my creative thinking kicks in, and I, like Sarah of old, come up with very logical plans. The problem is that, since I do not know God’s thoughts, and since my ideas are tainted with faulty reasoning and self-serving, I end up down roads that seem right, but that only lead to trouble —yet even there, the Lord is with me. (Genesis 16:1-4. Isaiah 55:8, 9. Romans 7:18. Proverbs 16:25. Psalm 138:7.)
My Lord walks with me, holds my hand, catches me when my foot slips, and rescues me from disasters of my own making. He often reminds me that I can trust His wisdom instead of my works. (Micah 6:8. Psalm 37:23, 24. Psalm 94:18. Psalms 107:7; 142:3 – meditate on these entire psalms. James 1:5. Romans 9:31, 32.)
He has promised to guide me with His eye. The problem is that my self-willed, I-know-what-I-am-doing, heart does not always take time for eye contact. (Psalm 32:8. Matthew 15:19. Jeremiah 5:21-23)
It is not in me to know the way to go, but when I yield my will, and seek God’s solutions my captivity is turned and my heart laughs. (Jeremiah 10:23, 24. Isaiah 55:6-9; Jeremiah 29:12-14.Genesis 21:6; Psalm 126:1-6.)
Surely there is nothing too hard for my Lord. His goodness leads me to repentance, guides me in the way of righteousness, fills me with rich treasures and shows me the path into His presence, where there is joy forevermore. (Genesis 18:14; Jeremiah 32:17. Romans 2:4. Proverbs 8:20. Psalm 16:11; 139:14)
