Digging In

eBible study  includes using internet or software driven concordances to research topics without depending upon what others have written.  As you study these triplets, you will learn how to search for similar verses using words and phrases from the quoted verses.

Online concordance
Bible Triplets
A new inductive way to dig into Bible truth

Making Triplets:
  1. Begin with a topic of interest
  2. Find three significant verses on the topic
  3. Use the thoughts and phrases in the verses to develop questions
  4. Do eBible searches to find the answers
  5. Make each study personal, elevating and informative
Use them for:
  • Personal encouragement and enlightenment
  • Family study time
  • Small group study
  • Electronic sharing. Try posting one on a social media page and get a whole group of friends studying online. Be creative. Any way you can find, display the jewels!

                                 Jesus and the Master(’s) Plan

2 TIMOTHY 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

1 PETER 1:18-22  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:  20Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21Who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

JOHN 17:24  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

Use these verses as a jumping off point to discover (list the key verses for each concept):
  1. Who Jesus really is.
  2. When the plan for our salvation was set.
  3. Who was involved in the plan.
  4. Study the word, “calling” when used as a noun. What definition does Strong’s Concordance give it?
  5. Outline the plan of salvation, from the very inception to its completion.
  6. Who are the players in this plan? What part do we have?

Use these searches:
         “foundation of the world”
         according to purpose
         before world began
         was & manifest
         blood & Jesus
         raised & him & up

                     Chimichangas,
             Isonomic Tape and
               Triplets

Many years ago I attended a series of meetings where Irene McCrary was one of the featured speakers. She bubbled over with the joy of her Bible discoveries and spent a whole week telling us about her experiences. Irene owned a small, fast food Mexican restaurant in Needles, California. At each meeting she described another of her wonderful menu items. I still remember the cheese chimichanga. She used every excuse she could to get our mouth watering over these delightfully cheesy gooey deep-fired burritos.

She told how she posted Bible verses all over her walls and windows and used every excuse she could to talk to customers so she could point them to a verse to fit their need. Her enthusiasm was inspiring; her stories entertaining. She loved to build a story up to a punchline, then declare, “Now for the isonomic tape!” and finish with a flare!

My husband and I puzzled over the "isonomic tape" for months. We didn’t have internet to look it up, and we were absolutely clueless. We sort of knew the definition was something like, “And now for the wonderful ending!”  Well, we finally figured it out. Isonomic tape, at normal speed is actually, “Icing on the cake!”

The real icing on the whole week was the concept of using triplets. Irene tied three significant texts together making dozens of mini Bible Studies. She found the texts by plowing through the concordance and using her Bible cross references. Each set of triplets had one word in common, and, as a whole, taught a wonderful Bible truth.
